Access and Entry Times
To visit the Montañas del Fuego (Fire Mountains), access is organized by timed entry slots. When purchasing your ticket online, you will need to choose your preferred entry time (availability depends on daily capacity limits).
How does it work?
The process is simple:
- Select the date of your visit.
- Check the available timeslots.
- Choose your preferred entry time.
- Arrive at the ticket office 15 minutes before your selected time to validate your ticket.
Please note before you arrive:
- Download your ticket or QR code and have it ready to show at the ticket office.
- Your ticket is only valid for the specific date and time you have chosen. No exchanges or refunds are permitted.
What your ticket includes:
- The Volcano Route: A roughly 35-minute tour on the park's coach (guagua). Departing from Islote del Hilario, you will journey through a lunar landscape of lava, craters, and volcanoes, discovering the geological history of the island.
- Geothermal demonstrations: On the Islote itself, you will see live demonstrations of how the earth's natural heat triggers a steam geyser and is used to cook food.
- El Diablo Restaurant: Planning to be in Timanfaya around lunchtime? You can try dishes grilled using the volcano's actual geothermal heat. If your visit aligns with lunchtime, it is the perfect way to top off your day while enjoying panoramic views.

Visit rules and guidelines
Important rules during your visit:
As this is a highly protected environment, we kindly ask you to respect the following guidelines:
- On the way to the parking lot: From the entrance (El Taro) to Islote del Hilario, you are not allowed to step out of your vehicle, to ensure the protection of the National Park.
- Extreme heat: In certain areas, the ground is extremely hot. Always stay within the marked paths and follow the staff's instructions.
- On the coach: For safety reasons and to guarantee the ultimate protection of this fragile natural environment, passengers are strictly prohibited from getting off the coach at any point during the Volcano Route.
- Pets: Animals are not allowed inside the park, with the exception of certified assistance dogs (Canarian Law 3/2017).
Reduced Rates (required documentation at the ticket office):
- People with disabilities: You must present your ID along with official, valid proof of disability status. If you do not provide this documentation, your reduced ticket will be voided without refund, and you will need to purchase a general admission ticket.
- Canary Islands or Lanzarote residents: Physical DNI, NIE, or passport. If your document does not have a photo, please bring another official ID that does. If your current address is not listed on your DNI, you must bring a valid certificate of residence (certificado de empadronamiento).
- Children under 14 without a DNI: Certificate of residence (certificado de empadronamiento).
- NO changes or refunds are allowed.
- Download your ticket or QR code to your mobile phone before you arrive.
