How did César Manrique transform an old quarry into a garden?
Jardín de Cactus, Experiencia Insólita invites you to explore one of César Manrique’s works through its history, its relationship with the landscape and the elements that shape its design.
Conceived by Manrique as an expression of “total art”, the Garden brings together architecture, gardening, design, painting and sculpture in a space integrated into the landscape of Guatiza.
The tour also explores the relationship between the Jardín de Cactus and its surroundings, including the prickly pear plantations that characterise this area of Lanzarote and are historically linked to cochineal farming.
An opportunity to pause, notice the details and learn about the stories behind this remarkable place.
